Band and Choir Instruction ~ Mrs. Hyatt, Band & Choir Director
I am so excited to be teaching band and choir here at Andros Karperos School. I was born and raised in Yuba City and was part of the music program in our school district from elementary through high school. I attended Yuba College and completed my bachelor's degree at CSU, Chico. Teaching is one of the most rewarding things in my life and I consider it a privilege to work with your students. Here at Andros Karperos we offer band to 4th through 8th grades. Our elementary students are given the option to take band in 4th and 5th grades. Fourth grade band starts with an introductory level instruction and 5th grade students are able to continue on in their musical studies. Each of these bands performs at two concerts per year. In our middle school, we offer band and choir as electives that meet every day. For 6th grade, we offer Intermediate Band for students who want to continue on with their instrument or learn a new one and for our 7th and 8th grade students, we offer Advanced Band for students with more advanced skills. Our choir includes 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students with various skill levels. Each of the performance groups participate in several exciting events each year including performances at school concerts, parades, and competitions. I am looking forward to working with your students.
